The C-LOKK™ Patent
C-LOKK™ began as BMTC’s original rifle chassis locking-set project and became the design foundation behind the BMTC rifle family. This page documents the patented design, the development project behind it, and how that foundation carries forward into today’s BMTC platforms.

What the Patent Protects
U.S. Design Patent D833,563 S covers the ornamental design for the rifle chassis locking set shown and described in the patent drawings. The published patent contains 21 figures depicting the lower component, upper component and the assembled set from multiple views. Broken lines shown in the patent drawings identify unclaimed portions and do not form part of the claimed design.
The Project Behind C-LOKK™
BMTC developed C-LOKK around a different approach to the receiver relationship: create a purpose-designed upper-and-lower foundation for the rifle rather than treating the receiver set as an interchangeable cosmetic shell. That development work became the starting point for BMTC’s modern rifle program.
The design patent and BMTC’s engineering-development story are related, but distinct. The patent protects the appearance claimed in its drawings; BMTC’s statements about rigidity, alignment, repeatability and accuracy describe the company’s engineering goals and testing of specific rifle configurations rather than additional claims granted by the design patent.
From Patent to Rifle Platform
The C-LOKK concept now serves as the common design foundation for BMTC’s Sentinel, Recce, Dominion, Shadow and Ascent platforms, with Atlas planned as the future large-frame evolution. Each platform applies that foundation to a different mission while retaining a recognizable BMTC design identity.
